Now that the holidays are almost over and that the New Year is quickly creeping in, it’s time to think about our New Years’ resolution. I am a big believer that we should not wait until January 1st to make significant and important decisions in our life and that NOW is always the best time to start… but I still find myself thinking about it every year. This year, my big New Year resolution is just to stay on the right path and get better with food! I mean, I LOVE to cook, but that does not say I am always wise with my ingredients or choices!
In the last three years, I have made major changes in my life (new career, two kids, new house… just to name a few). I started doing affirmations, meditate and exercise daily (well, I mean, ALMOST every day!). But the one area of my life that I always have a hard time with is food… mmm food.
Being a career lady and a mom of three, I need a lot of energy to keep going. I know that food should be a top priority in my everyday life… but to be honest, it’s not… but it will change this year!
First step: to learn as much as I can about food! Yesterday, I started to read about Superfoods! We have all heard about superfood, but what are they. The term “Superfood” is a marketing tool to promote food that has a high level of phytonutrient, resulting in great health benefits.
After doing some reading and research, here’s the top ten superfood that I will be adding (well trying at least) to my daily/weekly diet! Please be advised that I am by no mean an expert nor do I pretend to be 😉
- Goji Berries
- Avocados (this one will be easy!)
- Green Tea/ Macha
- Chia Seeds
- Hot Peppers
